Salon: Marcia Minutello

Well, here I am again.  I thought last year was going to be my last as salon chair, but I was asked by our new president, who,   is also my husband, to stay on as chair. He volunteered to cook some of his great Italian food for dinner once a month.  The pressure was just too much.  The thought of that Baked Ziti or Lasagna was enough for me to agree to stay on!   In turn,  I am asking those who were on the salon committee last year to continue with the fantastic job they have all done, maybe  I can even get the recipe for Bob's Ziti as a perk?

This year we will be hosting the "Battle of the Bays ." It is expected that it will take place in June, although,  at this time,  the date is still to be decided.  I will let you

know as soon as possible.  Our first salon will be at the February meeting.  This should be just before SEPPA and would be an excellent opportunity for  our members to learn from competition.  Our third Salon will be in October.  This one is usually an important factor for who will be "Photographer of the Year."  Speaking of which,  adding to the point total for Photographer of the Year  is our Print of the Month.  Each person entering will receive a point and the winner of this competition will get another point towards being Top Photographer.

We will also have the Creative Masterpiece at our November meeting.  The entrants and winner will receive points towards our Photographer of the Year.  The subject of the Creative Masterpiece is, "Games People Play."  Along with the points alloted to the image, there is the prize of dinner for two at our annual Awards Banquet.  The print can be 8x10 or larger and either  mounted or unmounted.  There is almost a year to to be creative and have some fun at the same time.  It would be good to see a large turnout for this competition.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our top five, or, as there was a tie, top 6 photographers for 2004.  They are:
